3D Ultrasound - 26 weeks

My friend Alicia gave us a gift certificate for a 3D ultrasound for Christmas.  It was recommended that we make the appointment around 26 weeks, so that's what we did. We had our appointment this morning. Here are some pics from our session.  Baby was breech with hands and feet in the way. This made it difficult to see our little one's face, especially since it was sleeping. Towards the end of our ultrasound Baby finally started to wake up, so we got a sneak peek of what the little face looks like.

It was nice to have the chance to see what our babe is up to. Only 3 more months and we will get to meet our little one in person!

Appointment #5

24 weeks

Last Tuesday we had another doctors appointment and all is well with Baby Satnik!  I had to do a glucose test to check for gestational diabetes. I passed!  The appointment was pretty uneventful - which is always good. Baby's heart rate was between 140-150 bpm. The doc had a hard time as our little babe was moving all over the place. At one point we are pretty sure baby even kicked the wand the doctor was moving around my belly! Belly measurements were good and my weight gain is within normal. This Saturday we are going for our 4D ultrasound, so check back soon as I'll be posting those pics.  I'm excited for another sneak peek!

Oh and in case you didn't notice... the countdown to baby's due date says 100 more days to go!  Exciting and scary all at the same time!  This baby is going to be here before we know it!

We've been busy...

Well, at least Andy has been anyways.
He must be nesting! ;)

Last weekend he painted the baby's room with his dad. (and our room too!)  I love the way it turned out. I had been going back and forth about colors and with some help from Johnny and Lynn we finally made a decision.  I had some dogsitting duties that would keep me out of the house most of the weekend, so it was the perfect time for them to get the room painted.  It was so cool to come home Sunday and see the finished projects. I am so grateful that they were able to tackle this project together. I felt exhausted just helping to put the rooms back together!  They were so efficient they were able to take care of all the painting in a day.  Guess it helps to have a dad that's a professional painter!  While I was away I started a baby quilt to match the new paint colors.  We are working on finding other decor for the room to make it special.  It feels nice to have the main things for baby's room figured out.  Special thanks to Dad and Grandpa for all your hard work!

We also started our baby registries!  First we stopped at Babies R Us and made the rounds. Then we headed over to Target.  I have to say it went a lot better than I expected.  I thought for sure we would become overwhelmed right away, but for some reason we were able to power through it and actually have a good time.  I'm guessing the trip to Babies R Us prior to registering helped to make it seem manageable.  Also, I'm going to credit Andy's super research skills, because we had an idea going in what we were looking for in the big items.  After registering we went out for dinner and discussed how much stuff this little baby is going to need!  Am I crazy to think that I might be able to contain most of it to the baby's room?  Where are we going to put all this stuff!?  So many things to think about...

Feed me!

I'm hungry...very hungry.

Baby must be going through a major growth spurt because this week I feel like I am constantly hungry.  I sometimes wonder what my officemate is thinking about my frequent trips to the kitchen.  Yesterday I washed and used my plate at work 3 times throughout the day.  Is it normal to eat every hour or so? I've been trying to make good food choices, but the vending machine is so tempting!  This morning I ate my breakfast while leaving the house. By the time I got to work I was already feeling hungry again!  If this keeps up I'm going to be as big as a house by the time summer rolls around.

Really?!

This morning we had our monthly bagel breakfast at work. There are a couple of ladies that are pregnant in our office, so of course the conversation centered around baby stuff.  All of a sudden one of my co-workers says 'wait a second, are you pregnant Crystal?!'  Ummm...yea. Only like 6 months! Ha ha.  Thanks lady. I have been feeling quite huge lately, but apparently it's not that noticeable! I can only imagine what was going through her head before she realized I was pregnant - geez that girl should lay off the fast food she's getting quite a belly!

Look what we got...

The last couple of nights before bed we have been doing 'research' online for baby stuff.  Andrew is the type that likes to explore all of his options before buying something.  He always wants to make sure he is getting the best quality, value, etc.  I know this about him, so I've been prompting him to start his 'research' now.  There are so many things we need to get before Baby Satnik's arrival - it could take awhile for him to complete his 'research.'  Don't get me wrong, I love this about him. We rarely have buyer's remorse, because he has thuroughly evaluated all of our options!  Of course, I'm always happy to leave this process up to him. He usually reports his findings to me and then we make the decision together.

Appointment #4

We had our 20 week ultrasound today!  It was so amazing to see how much our kiddo has developed and what it is up to in there.  Everything looked great and baby was very active.  I've been feeling the baby moving around, but had no idea how active it really is. The ultrasound technician did a great job as our little one squirmed around. We got a lot of good pics considering how much the baby was moving.  At one point we even got to see the outline of it's little hand - so cute!

Here is a side profile of Baby Satnik... I love that you can see the outline of it's little nose!
